A C++ Compiler is needed in order to use XSTAR, our high speed loading facility used to import large amounts of data (stored as CSV files) in bulk into VectorStar.

Any C++ compiler (such as GNU C++) will work on Linux. On Windows, however, a Microsoft C++ compiler is currently required. The following are the ones we have tested and support:

•	Microsoft Visual C++ 2005
•	Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition
•	Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5

For now, the compiler must be installed in the default directory to work properly with VectorStar.
